Usage Recommendations

Hotel Check-in

According to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), hotels only need to collect specific data for the traveler's entry form. They are not permitted to make a full copy of your ID.

Data required by law:

  • Full Name
  • DNI Number
  • Date of Issue
  • Nationality
  • Date of Birth
  • Sex

We recommend redacting all other data, especially:

  • Your Photo
  • Expiry Date
  • Parents' Names
  • Birthplace
  • The MRZ (Machine Readable Zone at the bottom)
